Privacy policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
This policy explains what Learn DevOps Online collects when you use this learning portal, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past — if anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.
Who is responsible for your data
Learn DevOps Online is the Data Fiduciary for the information described here, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect, and why
When you sign in
We use Google Sign-In. Google tells us your email address, name and a Google account
identifier. We do not receive, and never ask for, your Google password. We request only
the minimum sign-in scopes (openid, email, profile) and
have no access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.
Your enrolment and fees
Which courses you are enrolled in, the dates your access runs between, the agreed fee, and a record of payments you have made — amount, date, method (UPI, bank transfer, card and so on) and the reference number you gave us, such as a UTR.
We never see or store card numbers, UPI PINs, CVVs or bank credentials. We record that a payment arrived and what reference it carried, nothing more.
Your device
To stop one paid account being shared between several people, the portal recognises the devices you sign in from. For this we store:
- A random identifier saved in your browser, which is how your two device slots are counted.
- A device fingerprint — a one-way hash of technical characteristics such as your operating system platform, timezone, language, processor count and how your browser draws graphics. It is used to notice when one physical machine signs in to several different student accounts.
- Your IP address, and the approximate country and city our hosting provider derives from it.
We are telling you this plainly because it is the kind of thing a privacy policy usually buries. It is used for licence enforcement only. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build a profile of you, and we do not share it.
How you use the portal
Sign-ins and sign-outs, which sessions you open and when, how far through a session you are, what you mark as completed, and security events such as a new device appearing or an unusual number of sessions being opened in a short period. Your browser's user-agent string is recorded alongside these.
Protecting course content
Course material is licensed to you personally and not for redistribution. To enforce that:
- When a session plays inside the portal, your name and email address are displayed over the video. If recorded material appears where it should not, it identifies the account it came from.
- Opening an unusually large number of sessions in a short period locks the account automatically and alerts us.
- Sign-in activity, devices and session openings are logged for review.
Who else receives your data
| Handles sign-in. Google knows you signed in to this portal. | |
| YouTube (Google) | Hosts the session videos. When you watch a session, YouTube receives your IP address and the usual information a website gets. If you are signed in to YouTube at the time, your viewing may be associated with your Google account and appear in your YouTube history. That association is between you and Google; we neither see nor control it. Sign out of YouTube, or use a private window, if you would rather it did not happen. |
| Cloudflare | Runs the portal and stores its database, in the Asia-Pacific region. Cloudflare processes this data on our instructions. |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it otherwise only where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Account, enrolment and payment records — for as long as you are enrolled, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep financial records.
- Device and security logs — up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Progress records — until you ask us to remove them, or your account is closed.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you may:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or complete anything missing.
- Ask us to erase your data, where we are not required to keep it.
- Withdraw consent — though note that without the data above we cannot verify your enrolment, so withdrawing it means we can no longer provide access to your course.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you are unable to.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Write to contact@learndevopsonline.com for any of these. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Age
This portal is intended for learners aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Where a change materially affects how your data is used, we will tell you by email.
